Halloweenmas, Monarch Rodent, Grouch & Sandworm!

 

Twas a misty Hallows Eve and all through the streets,

The monsters were mashing in search of sweet treats.

 

They emerged from the attics and under the bed,

Foolish mortals all welcomed- the living and dead.

 

The hallways were decked with pumpkins and straw,

The prancing and pawing of each little claw.

 

Goblins and ghoulies rapped at chamber doors,

Ebony birds croaked and cawed grim nevermores.

 

The trickers were treated, greeted with fright,

And the Grinch o’ Lantern’s glow grew 3 sizes that night.

Autumn Immersion & Dances in the Dark!

 

Changing seasons, fiery arrays,

The promise of breezy, amber days.

 

Morning mists and billowing reeds,

Apples to cider, flowers to seeds.

 

Introspective, the light recoils,

Reveling in the harvest spoils.

 

And while the world is winding down…

Sunlight streams through Autumn crowns.

Odyssey, Autumn & Wordsmithing!

Art/painting is a visual expression often used when words do not suffice. I usually like the art to be open to interpretation. More and more I’ve been wanting to further define and enhance my paintings with a short poem (the art of wordsmithing!) about what it means to me. 

Would I ascend the spiral staircase and chase the horizon,

Or journey within to see what’s inside me?

Would I reign in the shadows of never-ending nights,

Or sprinkle it with embers of undying light?

Art of Nature, WIP & Shows!

 Nature is the creator’s canvas, the magnum opus. A painting is the artists flower, the ultimate expression in full bloom. The fruition of thoughts and inspirations. No one knows where inspiration comes from, just as no one knows where nature comes from. I don’t believe it is possible to KNOW, all we can do is theorize, dream and believe. 

Writing on the water,

Building castles in the sand-

Presence, presents…

Understand.

 

Everything is temporary, and there is beauty in that. 

Don’t build your life, your dreams, or your happiness on fragile, unattainable or fleeting things. Live in the moment, appreciate the gift of every moment. 

Understand this, understand yourself and strive to be understanding towards others.

 

Beautiful nature, beautiful art, beautiful expression. Each color is represented here because the spectrum is beautiful in its entirety. Wholeness, the oneness of which we are all a part.

Art shows will not be as plentiful this year… I sure miss the bustle of doing one every weekend and seeing your gorgeous faces but the costs are rising and the exhibitor fees are getting far too high. I always welcome private sales (free local pick up or delivery), whether you’re looking for a print or an original painting. Feel free to message me with any questions or requests.

 

While high vendor fees are not really within my control, I can still put on my own art show! I tried this last year and it was a smashing success, I am thrilled to bring it back again this summer. It will be an exhibition of all my currently available works, originals, prints, cards, etc. BUT instead of early spring (when everything was still brown and dead) it will be peak summer and the art display will be nestled within the well-established garden!

Let It Rain, Let It Glow & Summer Art Shows!

 A small plant obsession and the garden have taken most of my time and attention this Spring…

My collection of house plants has grown to over 70 with 60 or so species in the mix! A couple of the most unique being Living Stones (Lithops) and carnivores like the Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia). 

But thanks to art shows & demo painting time, I finally did some painting!
