And now for something completely different! This piece has been a long time in the making…like, 10 years or so. So many components to acquire and applications to perfect. A sheet of metal, appropriate surface patterning tools/techniques, pigments that are both highly saturated AND transparent, layers of mixed media that cooperate with each other, varnishes, adhesives, sparks, fumes, dust, fingerprints, ambient temperatures, wind… Then photographing such a hi-gloss, metallic surface, trying to capture the movement of the metal without the blinding glare! Proof that with enough determination and persistence, life is full of…
