December Art Summary & 2012 Sum Up!

Another year gone by...

Well, 2012 has been a great year for me in terms of art. Ive had a lot more time to focus on it and I was more ambitious than ever! I completed 45 new paintings and participated in 10 different venues which made for a grand total of 20+ shows/exhibits. It was a busy year and I look forward to an even more eventful 2013!

Shows have wound up for the year but Ive got a few venues scheduled in 2013 starting with painting classes in January and a solo show in April.

For more details, visit the Events & Appearances section. I will be adding more to this section regularly as new dates are confirmed =)

This month I was busy with my last show of the year, commission projects and ofcourse the holidays so I didn’t have much time for painting...I did manage to complete a few new Iconic portraits and the first installment in my brand new “Eyedeas” series!

First up, the striking Kate Beckinsale as Selene from Underworld in Iconic Portrait #19 “Death Dealer”. This piece was quite a challenge for me, I know because I almost gave up! Thats usually a good sign tho, my best works are often those which have almost been scrapped. Hair is still quite a challenge for me so this piece posed quite a problem...I persevered tho and just kept adding layers.

The original ready to hang 8x10 painting is currently for sale in my Etsy shop. For more details or purchase information please visit the listing.

Next, my favorite vampire elder...Iconic Portrait #20 Zita Görög as Ameliea from Underworld in “Ambush”.

She is a 7x9, ready to hang and for sale in my Etsy shop!

Finally, painting number one in what I hope will be a cool new series of “Eyedeas” Eyes can only see whats there-they reveal so much more... This first installment encompasses all that is New Years, parties, cocktails and a sparkling array of festivities! I hope I remember this tomorrow... “All that Glitters”

The original ready to hang painting is available in my Etsy shop! For more details and purchase information please visit the listing

Happy New Year to all! Wishing you the very best for a spectacular 2013!

November Art Summery & Update! Paintings, Shows, Gift Certificates!

Its been a crazy busy uber productive month, which is EXACTLY how I like it!

“Lifes A Bitch Now So Am I” Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman from Tim Burtons 1992 film Batman Returns. Too much fun to paint! She is so striking and there truly is no better inspiration.

The original 8x10 acrylic painting is for sale in my Etsy shop! If you don’t have/want an Etsy account or would prefer a private sale please message me at

“Mr & Ms Claws” in Iconic Portrait #17 I love these characters! Normally with my Iconic Portraits I choose a famous picture that I feel epitomizes the essence of the person/character. I this case I was not able to find such a photo so I had to create my own using several different references. It put a nice challenge on my usual process!

The original debuted at my first Christmas show of the season and sold very quickly but I do have prints available! Professionally printed (tho shipped direct from me to you) 8x10s can be purchased here 4x6, 5x7 and ACEO prints are available upon request =)

My first Yule show of the season was the Light up Okotoks Bazaar. It was my fourth year at this event and it gets better every time! So many wonderfully supportive people ♥ Thanks a million to everyone who came out!

Ive been in a really wintery mood so this piece came quite naturally "Forever Frost". I was listening to Yule music throughout most of the process, On Midwinters Day by Damh The Bard, All Alone On Christmas, Baby Its Cold Outside, My Only Wish, All I Want For Christmas Is You… to name a few of my favs =)

The original ready to hang 8x10 acrylic painting is currently listed in my Etsy shop! For more details, check out the listing!

Gift Certificates! Good towards anything MAGISTERIAN!

Everything in my Etsy shop, eBay, live exhibits and even commission works! Perfect for holiday gifts & stocking stuffers, birthdays, house warming etc. I have listed the more common denominations ($10, $25, $50, $100) but these can be purchased at any value you would like =)

I did my first Distinctly Nanton Christmas Market this month and it was an amazing show aswell! Nanton is such an eclectic community and I really felt at home. I will definitely be back next year!

Ive been feeling so festive all month, Im afraid Ill be sick of yuletide cheer by the time the holidays roll around! I decided to do something a bit different, not a single eye in the whole painting! “Yule Rouge”

The original sold very quickly but I do have prints available =)

Custom paintings for Christmas, great gift idea!

Original 5x7 portraits start at just $35, give a truly personal one of a kind gift!

And finally my last painting of the month...Iconic Portrait #18 Edgar Allan Poe in “Quoth The Poe It”

October Art Summery & Update!

My Sketch-A-Day challenge this month should have been more aptly named Sketch-A-Every-Other-Day but that’s ok, it was still a challenge and it got me sketching! I posted a number of these on my Facebook, as I said theyre not meant to be perfect or mindblowing- just a good opportunity for experimentation!

October was a good month for making plans and starting new initiatives! Im working on lots of new ideas for a themed show this spring and I will also be doing a portrait painting class this winter! More details to come! If youre interested in participating email me at and get your name on the list early =)

No art shows this month so I was able to dedicate all my time to painting! And getting ready for Halloween!!! …and I did lots of both!

“VonDracula” He vants to suck yourrrr blood! My last Halloween piece of the season =)

He is for sale here.

This was my demo piece for Alberta Culture Days so if you came by the exhibit you probably saw me working on it! The magnificent Liz Taylor in “Diamonds and Velvet”, #14 in my Iconic Portraits series.

The original 5x7 painting is still available here.

I also managed to make time for something in my traditional style, inspired by tribal fusion elements “Hope”

She is for sale here.

This one truly is better in person! No matter how I edited the digital image I just couldn’t get it to resemble the original. I tend to have that problem with blues and purples…I decided to explore a moon goddess type theme and this is what emerged…“Majesty”

She is for sale here.

Finally, Kate Beckinsale as Princess Anna Valerious from her role in Van Helsing “Van Anna”. This was the most intimidating Iconic Portrait Ive done sofar… It’s complexity was a bit outside my comfort zone plus she is one of my favorite characters of all time!

I just finished her yesterday and the original is for sale here.

Most importantly, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Stay safe & pig out! I know Im gunna ;D

As always,

Watch for the winning announcement on November 1st!

Stay ferocious
