Working on some new pieces for an upcoming summer show at the Okotoks Art Gallery! There is an optional themed component to the exhibit (lavender & daisies) which is great for inspiring me to try new things. Lots of concepts sketched out and a few ready to go – I’m am grateful to the muse for providing ample inspiration! These are the most recent to emerge…

The process for this one was a bit unusual, I normally sketch out the concept for each painting in pencil but this one just wasn’t cooperating. Best solution for me when that happens is to use a different medium so I ended up “sketching” it out in chalk pastel. Haven’t used those for years but it got the progress train rolling again =) Here are the two versions side by side:

It was beautiful outside this past weekend so I spent some time in the sunshine planting the garden and painting! 

 

The beauty of mutualism… proliferation, life’s longing for itself – It takes all kinds and everyone is essential 💜

Hellraisers, All Of ‘Em - New Paintings!

If you were a fly on the wall at my house, you might hear things like: “how is there peanut butter on my back?”, “why is this wet” or “don’t wipe your boogers on the cat!” – between the cats, the dogs, the kids (and let’s face it…me!) it gets pretty crazy! So my need to escape from, and my utter amusement with the INSANITY is expressed in these latest paintings =) Embrace the chaos and love your life <3
